Roberto Giulio Rida lamp made in Milan, 2010 called Soffio in the form of a large thistle blowing in the wind. Hand-wrought brass stem and leaves on a block of chipped rock crystal in a pale amber color with a blown molded white glass shade, an exciting master piece, great quality, unique.

Roberto Giulio Rida

Roberto Giulio Rida was born in Milan in 1943, and began his career as an antiques dealer after moving to Venice. While there, Rida was exposed to the Muranese tradition of glass making. Giulio studied with the best artists and returned to Milan in 1973, and began his profession career as a creator, executing his skill for designing stunningly visual pieces. Rida’s work is well known for its lavish use of materials and craftsmanship, but through this excess, he still proves capable of maintaining clear concepts in his work.
