Giovanni Gariboldi

Born in Milan in 1908, Gionvanni Gariboldi was a skilled designer, sculptor and artisan in ceramics who also served as an apprentice to Gio Ponti. Gariboldi then took on the position of Artistic Director at Richard-Ginori, a prominent ceramics manufacturer, in 1947 and would lead the company until his death in 1971. Giovanni Gariboldi’s work was beautifully organic and his devotion to the work was firm. Throughout the course of his career, he earned several awards: a gold medal for a collection of his ceramics and pottery at an exhibition in Paris in 1937, and a Compasso d’Oro in 1954.
