Stilnovo was a small Italian design and lighting manufacturer formed in the late 1940’s by Bruno Gatti, at a time when the country’s primary concern was rebuilding. The studio rose to success by producing well-crafted lighting solutions that were organically beautiful and artistic.
This was the influence of “Stilnovo” as the movement of refined expression. The essence of the poetic movement was to shed old conventions in literary expression, in order to craft ones thoughts and emotions in a manner that revealed the artists’ true intellectual efforts. These principles are evident in the designs curated and produced by Gatti, and other collaborating designers at Stilnovo. The company proved itself very successful by creating a varied catalog of rare lighting solutions from chandeliers to lamps of varying forms, which are authenticated by the presence of the original “Stilnovo Milan” brand or sticker.
